Anna Valencia for Secretary of State
IUPAT Born and Raised
Anna Valencia is the current Chicago City Clerk and is running to make history as the first woman Secretary of State in Illinois. She plans to carry on Secretary White’s legacy for the people of Illinois by consistently showing up and delivering for all communities and bringing her experience to the office to keep making government more accessible, innovative and open.
Anna grew up in a union household where her dad is a union painter in Granite City, IL. Anna has always fought for the values of working class families like her own.
Anna will bring energy, drive and innovation to the Secretary of State’s Office. She will work to improve services by increasing transparency, modernizing state government, and focusing on more accessible services.
Anna supports the Worker’s Rights Amendment to protect union members and their families which guarantees the right for workers to negotiate for safe working conditions and fair pay. She is campaigning to finally stop politicians from taking away workers’ freedom to join together and negotiate with their employers.
Anna has proudly been endorsed by IUPAT District Council #14 & #58.
